Adopt-a-Family Christmas Program 2012

Please note: this program is for families on the near-west side of Indianapolis (Stringtown area) who have already been signed up. If you are in need of Christmas assistance, please contact your local Salvation Army or United Way agency.

You can bring holiday joy to families in need through the Adopt-a-Family Christmas program at Anna's House. Sponsoring a family is a wonderful way to keep the true spirit of Christmas alive. Our Adopt-a-Family program matches families in need with individual, family or group sponsors.

Sponsors come in many shapes and sizes. They can be individuals, families, card clubs, Girl Scout troops, small businesses, large corporations and more. Our sponsors are matched with a family or families that best match their request. Many of our sponsors have found the experience so fulfilling that they participate in the program year after year.

We make it easy for you to shop by creating a profile with the names, ages, and gift request of each child under age 17, which may include toys, games, and clothing. We recommend that sponsors purchase at least one new gift and clothing for each child in the household, and one or two household items for the adults.

Sponsors shop, wrap and tag the gifts, and make arrangements with the family for delivery of the gifts. We ask that you do not give used gifts, except in the case of a more expensive item such as a computer, artificial Christmas tree, bed, bicycle, or video game system.

You will be matched with a family in need by the end of November. All gifts should be delivered to the adopted family by Tuesday, December 18, 2012.

Please complete and submit the Online Adopt-a-family application to become a sponsor. You should receive an email within 24 hours letting you know that we have received your application. If you would prefer to download an application, please click on one of these links: Word Format or PDF Format

Thank you letters from some of our guests that were sponsored for Christmas in previous years

I am attempting to show my gratitude, because thanks to you all Christmas arrived to my family, my children. The presents allowed them to dream and believe in the ability to care and have good faith in others.
With not much else to say, we wish you all the best, plenty of blessings, and that God may live in your hearts always.
Thanks for bringing the magic of Christmas to my family and the smiles in my little one, that will grow with the faith to help others that need the love and caring for them. We hope that God has filled you all with grace and happiness every day and that peace will be in your hearts.
Thanks to you all, I am grateful for your help this past Christmas. I thank you dearly from the heart because this past year we did not have much work, and our kids were not going to have their Christmas possible. But, because of you, you were like angels for us, that God send us, to make it possible for us. May God bless you and full with blessings. Thank you.

Thank you. I don't even know your name, but I will pray for God to bless you and all the people who help others in need like you have done.

My family and I wish a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to the kind and beautiful family who has made these days so happy for us. We also want to thank you for the presents that you gave us. They were very nice and for this we appreciate you and we are going to pray that God continues to bless your family in business and work and in your house and family and that God grants good health and lots of happiness to all of you. People like you will always be blessed in all times. Thank you so much and God bless all of you. Thanks you very very much. And may God bless your home. Happy New Years to all of your family. May you have health, love, work and may you find pace and tranquility in your hearts. A thousand thank yous for the many presents that you gave us and for helping our children- and us- believe in Santa Claus! We are also going to teach our children to help everyone who may need it- children, men, women, and seniors. The most important thing is to help the next person.

Thank you. I don't even know your name, but I will pray for God to bless you and all the people who help others in need like you have done.

Thank you to the family who brightened up our Christmas. We are so appreciative. Do you know it's the first time we received Christmas presents? We really liked the clothes and my son was very happy with his toys. And with the gift card we bought diapers and pajamas. Thank you for the wonderful things you bought for me, and my family. We loved our gifts very much. We never thought we'll get such a surprise this Christmas. Thank you for everything. We were very lucky to have you to help us this Christmas. You are a very nice person, and again thank you.
I like all my Christmas gifts you gave me. My favorite gift was the Nintendo DS. Why I like that gift is because every cousin had one I didn't. And I felt left out. But not now because I know I have my own. I'm glad that I have gifts. Because kids don't even get gifts for Christmas and I think they havn't celebrated Christmas because they don't even know what it is. I hope you like my letter and do the same thing next year. And have a happy New Year. Hope you all receive my most deepest gratitude for the help you have given us for this past Christmas. We hope you get millions of blessings and that God may multiply by a hundred for each dollar spent on us. Thank you so much.
